From citrus peel by-products to health-promoting bioactives

MEDGOAT took part in the 1st International Congress of the Tunisian Association of Biological and Medical Sciences (ATSBM), held in Hammamet on 16–17 October 2026.

The LPAM team presented the chemical and biological profiling of essential oils extracted from the peel of three citrus varieties, showing how agro-food waste can be turned into health-promoting compounds. The congress was an opportunity to exchange with researchers in biological and medical sciences and to share MEDGOAT’s work on bioresource valorisation.
