The OEP is a Tunisian public company of a non-administrative nature, under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, in charge of promoting and developing the livestock sector. It carries out the following tasks: (1) The development of food resources; (2) Promotion of the livestock sector; (3) Promotion, organization and supervision of the profession; (4) The follow-up of the sector and the contribution to its economic development (Supervision - Technical consultancy - Training - Expertise - Design and management of development projects - Research & Development - Elaboration of indicators and technical-economic referential); (5) The contribution to the accomplishment of all the specific missions entrusted to it by the Tunisian State to develop the sector.
OEP is involved in WP2, working on 1) Diagnosis of the State of mastitis problems in the farms of 13 governorates/types of farms (100 farms) 2) Identification of elements of successful decision making and technical conduct as part of a milk quality improvement strategy; 3) Recommendations for the support of farmers and the mobilization of stakeholders will be produced; 4) Build, develop and test innovative tools to raise awareness and train the various players in the sector in the rational and limited use of antibiotics in breeding and better control of mastitis; 5) Development of farmers' advice (milk quality) through information and communication technology practices
