The launch of WP2 of the MEDGOAT project was held on December 2nd at INRAT’s Innovation Center in Tunisia, gathering around 50 participants from both the Livestock Office of Tunisia (OEP) and INRAT. The event was co-organized by the two institutions together with the project coordinator, Latifa Najar (INSERM, France). The program included several presentations on the current status of the goat farming system in Tunisia and ongoing research activities carried out by the Laboratory of Animal and Forage Production at INRAT.

Latifa Najar provided an overview of the entire MEDGOAT project, followed by a presentation of the socio-economic studies to be conducted in Tunisia by INRAE (Dr Jean Joseph Minviel), leader of WP4, and updates on the ongoing results of WP3 presented by Dr Hanen Fallah from the Laboratory of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants (LPAM, Borj Cedria, Tunisia). The event concluded with a workshop initiated by INRAT (Pr Hichem Ben Salem) aimed at engaging engineers and researchers in identifying future research avenues for the goat sector, in alignment with the ambitions of the MEDGOAT project.
