ANOC's mission is to manage at the national level the development of sheep (11 breeds) and goats (14 breeds) programs in Morocco. The main activities concern the organization and supervision of breeders in the fields of animal genetics, health, animal nutrition, reproduction, and training of professionals in good breeding practices. ANOC supervises a network of 15,364 breeders and has around 200 employees, mainly breeding technicians.
ANOC mainly intervenes in aspects related to field activities (setting up trials, handling animals, and visiting breeders), including: Supervision and organization of target breeders, analysis of Breeding systems and schemes in goat, Socio-economic analyses in goat, collection of data, collection of samples, dissemination activities, and providing access to international exhibitions (e.g., SIAM Meknes).
